Civilisation of the Mind

Cyberspace is the bioelectronic environment where knowledge, thought and voice are freely distributed through computer networks.

Centralised network is where the audience receives all of the data or the product being distributed by one main source. However, as discussed in Cyberspace and the American Dream: A Magna Carta for the Knowledge Age, Cyberspace brought “the death of the central institutional paradigm of modern life”. Centralised networks no longer have control, individuals have the ability to create, share and expand content.

Manuel Castells above statement made in Informationalism, Networks, and the Network Society argues in fact this society is not ruled or governed by information or knowledge. To properly identify and describe our society is in fact the terms of its specific social structure. The networks powered by microelectronics and software based information and communication technologies.
