BCM241: Pitch

I will be focusing on the online community of the audience from the Bobo and Flex podcast. Autoethnographic research can be defined by Wall (2006) as “an emerging qualitative research method that allows the author to write in a highly personalised style, drawing on his or her experience to extend understanding about a societal phenomenon.” Through my observations and perspective, I will be focusing on the audience engagement in the different social media platforms and the nature of these discussions.

My digital artefact will then be the creation of blog posts that will reflect my observations and perspective. I chose Blog posts for my DA as I feel it will allow me to better reflect my findings and further develop my auto-ethnographic research.

I’m interested in understanding online communities better and their different aspects as my DA develops. It is stated by Bartal and Ravid (2020) how “People’s social life has become more embedded in dynamic online communities” which has been increasingly true due to COVID. Many individuals are turning to online communities to have that social interaction.
